Exercise is medicine

Physical activities (Exercises and Hiking) increase all causes of mortality, double the risk of cardiovascular diseases, diabetes, and obesity, and increase the risks of colon cancer, high blood pressure, osteoporosis, lipid disorders, depression, and anxiety. Physical activity/exercise can improve our health and reduce the risk of developing several diseases like type 2 diabetes, cancer, and cardiovascular disease, etc.

Exercise works as a medicine in many cases like depression, obesity, mood disorders, heart disease, stroke, etc. along with medication. Exercise is prescribed, in a specific dosage and formulation to each individual patient diagnosed with a disease. The prescription is specific regarding exercise Frequency, Intensity, Time, and Type (FITT).

Regular physical activity improves our quality of life. A physical activity minimum of 30-60 minutes a day can provide us with these benefits.
